After launching Vivo Nex, the Chinese manufacturer Vivo has come up with a new variant in Indonesia called Vivo V9 or V9 6GB. Earlier in this year Vivo has already launched the Vivo V9, but this time it is not with the usual 4GB RAM but with a massive 6GB RAM. In look and feel the Vivo V9 is quite similar to it’s standard variant, but inside the hood company has made many changes. The key ones being the processor and the camera setup.
Vivo V9 has came up with a dual camera set-up of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors, which is very low then the previous model, which has a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. If we talk about the front camera the new variant has a 12-megapixel camera at the front, which is half of earlier model, the earlier model has a 24-megapixel selfie camera. Company has changed the camera specification, but they did not change the feature came along with it. The new variant still offers the Portrait lighting effect and AI-based Face Beautify app for selfie and video call beautification and Bokeh depth-of-field effect. The new Vivo V9 model also comes with Face Access 2.0, which will help unlock the phone using face recognition.
The another noticeable change in the new variant is it’s processor. Vivo V9 new variant has coupled up with a 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon 660 SoC, while the older variant has a Snapdragon 626 processor along with 4GB RAM. It offers 64GB of inbuilt storage which expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card.
The rest of the specification is same. I was hoping that there will be some upgrade to the software, but new Vivo V9 has same software. It runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It runs on a 3260mAh battery, sadly there is no fast charging support. The device has a massive 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) IPS ‘FullView Display 2.0’ with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch at the top. It delivers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone will come in two colour options – Black, and Red. The connectivity options it offers are 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-USB port.
In Indonesia Vivo V9 has launched with a price tag of IDR 4,299,000, which roughly converts to $301 and about Rs 20,592. which is cheaper then two thousand, the original Vivo V9 was priced in India at Rs. 22,990.
