Flying cars a type of personal air vehicle or we can say a roadable aircraft that provides door-to-door transportation by both ground and air. In many movies we have saw amazing flying cars like my favorite Back to the Future, Star Wars, Batman Beyond, and The Jetsons.
Many prototypes have been built since the first years of the twentieth century using a variety of flight technologies and some have true VTOL performance, but no flying car has yet reached production status even though we are changing the future with daily new technology every day. The concept is in mind of engineers but not in actual world.
I’m not saying it is a impossible thing, but if you want to give a example of hell complicated engineering then with do doubt for that flying cars are best. The companies which are doing hard day and night includes Airbus and Audi, which recently made a partnership to build a flying car. US ride-sharing firm Uber and the Cora which is started by Google co-founder Larry Page are also heavily investing there potential to make electric-powered flying car or taxis a reality.
In this race of building World’s first flying car, a another player has jumped in and you will wonder by knowing that it is British luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce. Rolls-Royce is focusing on designing a propulsion system for a flying taxi. In a Farnborough air show happens on 16 July, Rolls-Royce shows there design of flying car or taxi in digital form. The company is looking for airframers and electrical-systems suppliers.

On Sunday 15 July Rolls-Royce stated that they had drawn up plans to create an electric vehicle that could potentially reach speeds of 400 kilometres per hour (around 250 miles per hour). Rolls-Royce’s flying cars will have a wings that rotate 90 degrees which will facilitates flying car to take off vertically. There will be four propellers fold away at cruising height and an additional two on the rear side. Rolls design uses a version of its M250 gas turbine for flying car or taxi, you will surprised that M250 gas turbine was launched 50 years ago by Rolls.
Rolls-Royce said in a statement it was well-placed to play a leading role in the “personal air mobility” market. Rolls-Royce claims that the craft will be ready for flight in the early 2020s as per a reporte by the BBC .
So get ready, we are soon going to enter in a future where we don’t need roads.
Would you like to take a ride on Rolls-Royce flying car or taxi, let me know in comment box.
