Nikon has taken the telephoto shooting for wildlife photography to a new level. On July 10 at Delhi India, Company has launched there much awaiting digital camera the “COOLPIX P1000” with a whooping zoom range of 125X 24-3,000mm f/2.8-8 lens (35mm equivalent), breaking there own record of P900 which is equipped with the 83X 2,000mm zoom lens. Nikon’s COOLPIX P1000 price is not releases yet.
It comes with a maximum aperture of f/2.8-8, it’s a little slower at the long end of the zoom c ompared to the f/6.5 offered by the P900, but the P1000 does offer an extra 1000mm of coverage. COOLPIX P1000 shoots at up to 7 fps, albeit only for seven images. It offers a 100-6400 ISO range. That massive zoom lens is placed in front of an average-sized sensor of a 16 megapixel, 1/2.3-inch sensor. COOLPIX P1000 is fully packs a articulating LCD (non-touch) screen, and a 2.36M-dot OLED viewfinder.
With COOLPIX P1000 Nikon has upgraded the EXPEED image-processing engine, which allows you to capture high-quality images, and the Dual Detect Optical VR technology that delivers up to 5-stops of camera shake compensation. Even with hand-held telephoto shooting, it delivers a sharp and clear images.
COOLPIX P1000 offer 4K UHD/30p or 25p movie recording with Movie manual mode. Like P900, P1000 offers raw capture facility. Frames from movies recorded in 4K UHD format can also be saved as still images to preserve moments that can’t be captured with a continuous burst of still-image shooting, the company said in a statement. The camera has a mic input for better audio capture, which is something you won’t find in most bridge cameras. For connectivity COOLPIX P1000 is equipped with Wifi and Bluetooth support, which allows you to control the devise with your smartphone.
In terms of control layout COOLPIX P1000 will have a dedicated focus mode selector, while a new control ring round the barrel of the lens allows for adjustment over a range of customisable settings, including exposure compensation, white balance and manual focus. The device uses Nikon’s latest processor, capable of capturing stills at 7 frames per second, for up to a second. Nikon says the camera’s contrast detection autofocus system is also quick. It is 14 inches long when fully extended, and weighs in at 3.1 pounds, heavier than many mirrorless or DSLR cameras. COOLPIX P1000 is expected to launch in september at a price about $999.95 / £999.
